BioMar desplegó la alfombra roja para premiar a sus clientes salmonicultores

En tono de esta celebración » a lo rockstar» fue dado desde los primeros segundos, con una entrada al lugar, al sonido de «We will rock you» de Queen y las aclamaciones del equipo de la empresa.

El pasado jueves 13 de marzo, BioMar desplegó la alfombra roja para celebrar a los Farmer of the Year 2024 como verdaderas estrellas de rock. Dos bandas en vivo marcaron el ritmo del evento, con cocktail, hamburguesas Bagual, cervezas Chester, puros, las marcas de whisky escoses Glenfarclas y japones Akashi, y hasta tatuajes, afirman en comunicado de prensa.

Esta premiación, auspiciada por Cahuil Adventure, el hotel Cabaña del Lago, la charcuteria La Vikinga, el restaurante Familie Fritz de Frutillar, así como las marcas de whisky escoses Glenfarcas y japonés Akashi de Miguel Torres, fue una celebración llena de detalles en un ambiente vibrante, de principio a fin.

Cerca de 150 profesionales de la industria salmonicultora se dieron cita en el hotel Cabaña del Lago para celebrar a las empresas y centros de cultivo que obtuvieron los mejores resultados este 2024. El tono de esta celebración a lo rockstar fue dado desde los primeros segundos, con una entrada al lugar sobre alfombra roja, al sonido de “We will rock you” de Queen y las aclamaciones del equipo BioMar, haciendo que cada invitado se sienta como una verdadera estrella de rock.

Luego de un cocktail de bienvenida, Derek Kohn, gerente general de BioMar Chile y Gabriela Heim, gerente Comercial de la compañía, dieron unas palabras de bienvenida y agradecimiento.

Derek comentó que “en BioMar tenemos un dicho que usamos bien frecuentemente, que pueden ver en nuestro Reporte de Sostenibilidad o en presentaciones internas. Y es que, los resultados son creados por personas. ¡Esto es exactamente lo que venimos a celebrar hoy! ¡Los resultados que ustedes han logrado! No basta un buen alimento para lograr buenos resultados productivos. La excelencia productiva la logra grupos humanos, equipos, que se coordinan, que se comunican, que anteponen objetivos grupales por encima de los individuales. Todos sabemos lo desafiante que está la industria, lo difícil que es la producción de salmón, los desafíos ambientales y biológicos que existen. Obtener buenos resultados hoy, no es tarea fácil. Por lo mismo, quiero felicitar a todas las empresas premiadas en los Farmer of the Year 2024 de BioMar. ¡Es un tremendo mérito!”.

Lo siguió Michael Adler, gerente Técnico de BioMar Chile, quien compartió un análisis de los resultados productivos este 2024. Michael resaltó la importancia de la innovación y la colaboración, junto a la adopción de una estrategia nutricional y de alimentación con foco en la salud y bienestar, para seguir mejorando el desempeño de los peces frente a condiciones ambientales cada vez más desafiantes.

Tras la presentación de Michael, Gabriela Heim, inició la premiación con el anuncio del ganador del premio “Innovación Sostenible”, que este año, se lleva la empresa Salmones Austral por su proyecto “Cultivando el futuro de las algueras de Chaicas de Salmon”, junto a Mujeres de Chaicas y Huiro Regenerativo. El hermoso proyecto de Salmones Austral destaca por su triple impacto, es decir ambiental, social y económico, en línea con las tres grandes eres de la estrategia de sostenibilidad de BioMar: acción climática, empoderar personas, circular y restaurativo.

El proyecto ganador resaltó por su positivo impacto ambiental, a través de la regeneración y repoblamiento de ecosistemas con algas endémicas, contribuyendo a las metas de adaptación al cambio climático, Gases de Efecto Invernadero (GEI), y a la absorción de nitrógeno y carbono. A la vez, el proyecto tiene un importante impacto económico y social, al desarrollar capacidades y generar ingresos directos para las mujeres de Chaicas.

La ceremonia de premiación continuó con el reconocimiento al centro de cultivo Leutepu de Marine Farm, que obtuvo la mejor conversión biológica en la categoría Performance de Coho. Posteriormente, se premiaron a todos los centros del Top 10 de la categoría Performance de Salmón del Atlántico, cerrando con el centro Humos 6 de Australis, que logró la mejor conversión biológica.

El año pasado, la firma danesa introdujo tres nuevos premios. Además del premio a la mejor “Innovación Sostenible”, sumó los premios “Mejor Eficiencia Energética” y “Mejor Conversión Biológica Empresa”. Así, además de lograr el mejor factor de conversión biológica del año, el centro Humos 6 de Australis también fue destacado por su óptimo uso de energía para lograr su factor de conversión de 0,996.

Finalmente, el premio a la mejor Conversión Biológica Empresa, que reconoce la consistencia en la excelencia de los resultados, fue ganado por Australis, que brilló en los Farmer of the Year 2024 con 6 de sus centros en el top 10.

Nada fue dejado al azar para celebrar a las estrellas de la noche. Dos bandas de rock animaron el evento, de las cuales una de ellas creada especialmente para el evento, con músicos de BioMar, Yadran y Mowi, para resaltar la importancia de la colaboración.

«Además, los invitados del evento disfrutaron de las tremendas hamburguesas de Bagual, exquisitos bocadillos y productos del mar, acompañados por cervezas Chester y las marcas de whisky escoses Glenfarclas y japones Akashi de Miguel Torres. En la terraza, pudieron catar puros mientras contemplaron deslumbrantes vistas al lago y a Puerto Varas, bajo los cielos estrellados de una noche despejada. Todos los ingredientes para una celebración inolvidable estuvieron presentes», según manifestaron.

This awards ceremony, sponsored by Cahuil Adventure, the Cabaña del Lago hotel, La Vikinga delicatessen, the Familie Fritz restaurant in Frutillar, as well as Miguel Torres’ Glenfarclas Scotch whisky and Akashi Japanese whisky, was a celebration full of details in a vibrant atmosphere from start to finish.

After a welcome cocktail, Derek Kohn, General Manager of BioMar Chile, and Gabriela Heim, the company’s Commercial Manager, offered words of welcome and thanks.

Derek commented, “At BioMar, we have a saying that we use quite frequently, which you can see in our Sustainability Report or in internal presentations. Results are created by people. This is exactly what we’re here to celebrate today! The results you have achieved! Good food isn’t enough to achieve good production results. Production excellence is achieved by human groups, teams, who coordinate, who communicate, and who put group goals before individual ones. We all know how challenging the industry is, how difficult salmon production is, and the environmental and biological challenges that exist. Achieving good results today is no easy task. Therefore, I want to congratulate all the companies honored in BioMar’s 2024 Farmer of the Year Awards. It’s a tremendous achievement!”

He was followed by Michael Adler, Technical Manager of BioMar Chile, who shared an analysis of the production results for 2024. Michael highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration, along with the adoption of a nutritional and feeding strategy focused on health and well-being, to continue improving fish performance in the face of increasingly challenging environmental conditions.

Following Michael’s presentation, Gabriela Heim began the awards ceremony by announcing the winner of the «Sustainable Innovation» award. This year, the company Salmones Austral won the project «Cultivating the Future of the Seaweed Farms of Chaicas de Salmon,» together with Mujeres de Chaicas and Huiro Regenerativo. Salmones Austral’s beautiful project stands out for its triple impact: environmental, social, and economic, in line with the three main aspects of BioMar’s sustainability strategy: climate action, empowering people, circularity, and restorative.

The awards ceremony continued with recognition for Marine Farm’s Leutepu farm, which achieved the best biological conversion in the Coho Salmon Performance category. Subsequently, awards were given to all the farms in the Top 10 in the Atlantic Salmon Performance category, closing with Australis’ Humos 6 farm, which achieved the best biological conversion.

Last year, the Danish firm introduced three new awards. In addition to the award for Best Sustainable Innovation, it also included the awards for Best Energy Efficiency and Best Biological Conversion Company. Thus, in addition to achieving the best biological conversion factor of the year, Australis’ Humos 6 farm was also recognized for its optimal energy use in achieving its conversion factor of 0.996.
