Salmon farming companies have collaborated to deliver gifts to children in the most remote town on the island.
Christmas is a special time for families and, even more so, for children who look forward to Santa Claus’s visit every year. With this in mind, Joup Red Amigos de la Patagonia, together with three salmon farming companies, joined forces to surprise the children of the Caleta Inio Rural School, the only inhabited place in the Tantauco Park, which is also considered the most remote town in the Chiloé Archipelago.
y proud and grateful for the support of the private sector. We hope to continue collaborating with the children of this town,” said the founder of Joup Amigos de la Patagonia, Claudio Ojeda.
This initiative was possible thanks to collaborative efforts between Australis Seafoods, Multi X and Salmones Austral. The arrival of the gifts to Caleta Inio required a boat that set sail from Puerto Montt and the support of the inhabitants of the town’s teacher.
“The trust and willingness of the companies that promote this initiative are an example of how people make a difference in organizations, and can be the driving force to promote actions that bring a little magic to the most isolated places in Chile. I would especially like to highlight the work of Joup Red Amigos de la Patagonia, who have shown for years that with collaboration and commitment we are capable of generating unique moments for children and their families,” said the manager of People and Human Resources at Australis, Josefina Moreno.
On the other hand, Francisco Lobos, manager of Corporate Affairs at Multi X, added that “from our community relations program Citizen Multi X we involve our internal community in these actions that have the purpose of supporting the people who live in the southern regions of our country. That is why we immediately joined this call and we see the results with joy.”
Finally, Milton Castaing, Human Resources Manager at Salmones Austral, said that “we are a company proud to be part of the community of Chiloé, where we share with our neighbors in various initiatives and activities and, on this occasion, we joined in the Christmas celebration of the children in the town of Inio, which is home to our workers and their families. At Salmones Austral, we believe that Christmas is a time to share and give joy and we are very happy to have been able to make a small difference in the lives of these boys and girls.”
