Beginning of the year: Three projects to expand salmon production are presented

These are initiatives that seek to increase activity in fish farming, center and processing plant.

Starting this year, three projects for the expansion of salmon production were presented to the Environmental Assessment Service, both in fish farms, in the center and in the processing plant.

Thus, the “Rio de la Plata Fish Farming Expansion” project of Salmones Camanchaca aims to increase biomass production to 700 tons per year of salmonid species in the facility.

Currently, the fish farm, located in the commune of Purranque, generates biomass associated with the production of fry and pre-smolt, from the entry of eggs.

This project also includes the production of eggs through the introduction of breeders, and the growth cycle of the fry will continue until they reach the smolt stage.

Therefore, once the project is implemented, fish farming will generate biomass associated with all stages of salmonid development, until they reach the smolt stage.

In the case of the Angosta centre, the objective of this Salmones Austral project is to increase the production of authorised salmonid biomass, which is currently 5,200 tonnes per year, to a maximum of 7,900 tonnes per production cycle.

The above, according to the company, contemplates the use of 1 module, with 18 square cage rafts of 40x40x20 meters in the initiative of the Aysén Region.

Also, a project was presented to increase production at the Acme Chile plant, located in the Trapén sector, where they want to go from 14,000 tons/year to 30,000 tons/year of raw material to be processed while maintaining the production of whole products, fresh or frozen fillets, portions and salmon pulp that are mainly exported.
