In a well-attended event, the Waiting List Foundation achieved its goal of recruiting members for the noble task of reducing the time of patients on the public system’s waiting list.
Completely full and with resounding success, the second version of the Café Concert organized by the Waiting List Foundation concluded, which took place last Saturday the 27th in Puerto Varas and was sponsored by more than 30 local companies and the important collaboration of companies salmon farmers, including Ventisqueros, Salmones Austral and the SalmonChile union.
This event, in addition to offering a night full of entertainment and fun, had the main objective of raising funds and adding new members to be able to remove people from the waiting lists for surgical interventions that are waiting in the public system. This event was also the occasion to highlight the milestone of carrying out the first 100 surgeries in the Los Lagos Region.
Catalina Urzúa, Head of Communications at Salmones Austral, told Salmonexpert that the company supported this initiative as a sponsor, in order to attract members and also by campaigning and making the Foundation visible to attract new members.
“We know that the issue of waiting lists is an important health problem in our country, which is why we believe that the work they do in this Foundation is very valuable,” the professional stressed.
For his part, Agustín Waidele, Director of Communications of Ventisqueros, stated that the company has more than 35 years of life in the Los Lagos Region, and from its beginnings to date, its commitment to the development and well-being of the people of the southern austral is a priority.
“Supporting such important projects that improve the quality of life of the people of southern Chile is essential. For the second consecutive year we have collaborated with the dissemination of the work carried out by the Waiting List Foundation. This is directly connected to our purpose, which is to improve the quality of life and general well-being of people, through sustainable salmon farming. And this initiative aims to achieve this, to be able to provide hundreds of families with access to surgical interventions when they are required. The company wanted to join the call of the Foundation, and on this occasion we supported the creation of testimonial videos that aim to publicize the work carried out by the Foundation and raise awareness about its spirit,” Waidele highlighted.
Meanwhile, Felipe Díaz, director of Communities at SalmonChile, announced this project born in the south of Chile and which today has its pilot in the Los Lagos Region.
“Supporting to reduce the health waiting list represents supporting not only patients who have waited a long time, but also the families who have accompanied these processes. Therefore, for the second consecutive year, we were present at the Waiting List Foundation’s Café Concert, inviting more actors to take part and thus add more forces to continue carrying out operations.”
The president of the Foundation, Felipe Castillo, shared his enthusiasm and gratitude for the success of the event. “Every person who attended not only enjoyed a wonderful night, but also directly contributed to changing lives. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate your generosity and commitment. “Your presence and support are the driving force behind our mission to reduce surgical waiting lists in Chile.”
Pilar Santa María, executive director of the foundation, highlighted the importance of collaboration and commitment of the sponsoring companies. «We hope that the salmon farming industry takes up this cause of removing people from surgical waiting lists, starting in our region, but also with the aim of reaching all of Chile. This project was born in Los Lagos, but seeks to solve a national pain. What better way than to address this local problem together with the salmon industry and then extend the solution to the rest of the country?”
On this occasion, the Waiting List Foundation had the honor of receiving 70 new members, who enthusiastically joined the mission of reducing surgical waiting lists in the country.
