Published on: 11 November 2024

Directors and managers of companies from sectors such as fishing, agriculture and livestock, together with leaders from the educational world and civil society, have joined together in a collaborative network in the Los Lagos Region to reduce the educational gap and improve the learning of students. This initiative already has 45 participating institutions, including companies such as AquaChile and Salmones Austral, along with organizations such as Enseña Chile, Fundación MC and NGO Canales. The network will seek to generate a sustainable impact on education through the coordination of various sectors.

During the launch and signing of the commitment at the German Club of Puerto Varas, Tomás Recart, Executive Director of Enseña Chile, highlighted the importance of collective work on education issues, stating that “there is no plan B” and that unity is essential to face this challenge. Alejandra Grebe, from Fundación MC, highlighted the importance of addressing problems locally and making visible the current educational situation in the region.

The initiative will operate in educational establishments by designing strategies that coordinate improvement actions supported by the various participants in the network. Claudia Trillo, from the Llanquihue Local Education Service, and Jorge Pacheco, from Oxxean Chile, called for more actors to be involved and stressed the need for collaboration to strengthen education in Los Lagos. The network remains open for those who wish to join this challenge for the education and development of the region, with more information available at redporelaprendizajeloslagos.cl.
