In this regard, the commercial director of ProChile in Spain, Gabriel Guggisberg Alarcón, explained that that country “is a large consumer of seafood products and known for its demand for quality, so being successful in Spain with a food of this type, favors a positive reception in the rest of Europe.”

Guggisberg added that this fair concentrates a large part of the world’s supply, making it an “unmissable opportunity for Chile to show what it is capable of offering, with fresh and tasty products from the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean, with a guarantee of quality and sustainability in its processes, which allows it to have world leadership in several categories, such as fresh salmon fillets, mussels and a wide variety of frozen products. Particularly in Spain, in addition to the sustained increase in mussels, we have seen a significant increase in salmon, growing almost 2.5 times in exports during the last 10 years.”

Meanwhile, for the regional director of ProChile in Los Lagos, Ricardo Arriagada, “it is a source of pride that the majority of the companies present and also the Chilean food offering at this international fair come from the Los Lagos Region, where the aquaculture industry has clear leadership at the national and regional level.”
